Jacuzzi Energy Efficient Components

Jacuzzi hot tubs start with superior heat retention from their proprietary rigid bond shell construction and are full-foam insulated. The TriFusion shell and foam insulation conserve energy by maintaining water temperature longer. Some hot tub manufacturers place insulation solely along the floors or inside the cabinets for a ‘partially insulated’ hot tub, but Jacuzzi hot tubs feature two types of foam completely filling the compartments along the shell and other open areas inside the cabinet, making them among the most energy efficient hot tubs on the market.

All Jacuzzi energy efficient jet pumps cost effectively produce high-performance jet power and Jacuzzi hot tub programmable circulation pumps are engineered to heat, filter and sanitize in a highly efficient way to further reduce energy usage. By creating a strong and reliable flow through every jet, the jet pumps create a vigorous massage action while the low amp circulation pump work steadily to ensure clean, hot water is always available. Easy to programme filtration and heating cycles allow you to control energy costs based on your personal use of your Jacuzzi hot tub. The system also allows you to lock in your settings to prevent unauthorised access.SmartSeal™ Insulation is a factory installed material, ideal for cold weather climates. It is included as standard on all Jacuzzi J400 series models. This insulating blanket achieves up to 25% energy usage reduction, protects from moisutre and mold, and reduces operating noise. It is made from enviornmentally friendly recycled blue jean material.

Jacuzzi heaters feature an ultra low watt density, energy saving titanium heating element and housing which increases thermal efficiency and saves energy.

Even Jacuzzi hot tub accessories are energy efficient. All Jacuzzi hot tub covers are constructed with high density foam covered by weather resistant material that insulates the hot tub and saves energy. All the lights used in their hot tub are made with LED technology to last longer, cost less and produce more light per watt than incandescent bulbs.

Hot tub running costs

Jacuzzi UK commissioned independent research undertaken by RSK Group, one of Europe’s fastest growing environmental consultancies.

They found that Jacuzzi Hot Tubs have superb levels of insulation and are amongst the most energy efficient in the industry. Weekly running costs start at just:

• £3.71 per week for the J200 series
• £4.87 per week for the J300 series
• £5.17 per week for the J400 series
• £3.50 per week for the JLX Series

Typically energy usage equates to 5-7% of annual usage for a typical 4 bed home.

Energy usage calculations include: initial heating to 38°C 4 times per annum, constant maintenance of the water at 38°C with allowances for heat loss through the shell, cover and via evaporation plus the energy used to power pumps and filters. Costs are calculated at 10p per kWh.
